Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 - London to Kamloops, BC

Up early for the last fabulous room service breakfast.  Had our own BMW with driver to take us to Heathrow at 8 am for our flight at 11 am.  He got us there in about half and hour so we had plenty of time to check in and kill some time in the 1st class lounge before boarding.  Then OJ and champagne once on board.  We had a great flight with fab service and managed to get a few Z's.  Sleeping is fairly easy in a totally horizontal position with the blindfold, earplugs, fluffy pillow and the duvet - ya gotta love 1st class!  Thank you Aeroplan points!

We arrived in Vancouver after the 9 hour flight at 12:30 pm - just in time to wait for the bags and miss the 1:30 pm flight to Kamloops.  Next flight?  9:45 pm!  Well at least we could kill the 9 hours in the Maple Leaf Lounge - but even that gets boring and on your nerves when you've been up 24 hours and all you want to do is get home to your own bed.  Finally arrived in Kamloops at 10:30 pm to a warm welcome from two of our favourite travelling companions - sisters Tricia and Theresa - they epitomize the musical we saw on our first night in London - "Sister Act".

Friday, October 1st, 2010 - London, UK

Well, here we are - our final day!  We can hardly believe our 10 weeks is just about over.  Intentionally didn't book anything today so that we could just relax around London and if we get a show for tonight at the half price ticket place that'll be good.  Here's our room at The Cavendish and we did spent the day just walking around town although it rained in the afternoon.  We were lucky to get tickets in the Dress Circle for Pricsilla at 7:30 pm - what a brilliant show.  We were up dancing in the aisle - we knew all the songs and had a great time.  Home by 11pm for a picnic in our room.  Off tomorrow to the airport and the long journey home, but we're ready to get back to some sort of routine and our own bed - although no more breakfast in bed (unless I can renegotiate the wedding vows, ha ha)!

Thursday, September 30th 2010 - London, UK

What a great day!  A double biller is planned Shirley Valentine this afternoon and Educating Rita this evening at Trafalgar Studios.  We walked around town on this grey, but dry day and both shows were excellent.  The Shirley Valentine presentation was a one-woman show and she was brilliant.  Educating Rita was great too, although you had to be quick to catch the accents in that one.  We had a nice dinner at Chaplins where we had gone before and home by 10:30 another great day - we love the theatre!

Wednesday, September 29th 2010 - London, UK

Decided to splurge and ordered room service breakie - what a treat, can't remember the last time I had breakfast in bed!!! Got ready and strolled around London, went on the Thames river cruise, then a cab to our afternoon performance of 'Yes Prime Minister' at the Guilgud Theatre. It was hilarious, although most of the audience were over 80, it was quite good actually Ron and I felt quite young in that crowd, ha, ha. The two main actors were people we know from other tv fame, so it was nice to see them and we thoroughly enjoyed our great seats in the stalls - we were in about row 10, so we could see them sweat!!! We picked up tickets for Legally Blonde at the half price ticket place tonight, so not enough time to go back to our hotel between shows. We walked around a bit talking about the play and then found Paradiso Inferno Italian Restaurant for dinner - some Lasagne, Fetuccine and 1/2 bottle of red - it was fantastic. Legally Blonde started off a little slow, but I think the other shows we've seen have been of a really high standard and although this was was at the Savoy Theatre (a newer, perhaps higher end Theatre) the show itself was good, but not brilliant. But then, I suppose those of you who have seen the movie, know that the plot isn't really all that complex, so the talent displayed would have to be high to warrant a 2 1/2 hour attention span! We were amused to see that the Lecherous Professor was played by our old friend Tristan (Peter Davison) from All Creatures Great and Small fame - a show we used to watch many moons ago. It was great to see him again and he did a good job! Once again, a nightmare trying to get a cab, (there's lots of them in London mind you) but when the Theatre gets out it's impossible to hail one. We walked back to hotel singing in the rain about 20 minutes, and were glad to get into our beautiful room and that nice cosy bed - what a great evening.

Tuesday, September 28th 2010 - London, UK

Went to breakfast around 9:00 a.m. and were surprised to find the restaurant in the Hotel still very busy with business people conducting meetings etc., made us feel a little guilty - NOT! What a great buffet breakfast - they had everything you could wish for, nice and hot and plenty of it. After that hearty breakfast we strolled around London and checked on the half price ticket place at Leicester Square for possible other shows for our time here. We have a few openings that we could fill if there's something else we'd like to see. After a quick bite at the hotel we got ready and headed out for our evening's performance of Flashdance (complete with the chair and shower/water scene for those who saw the movie), it was fantastic at the Shaftesbury Theatre. All the dancers and singers were great, there's so much talent here, it's hard to believe each and every one of the performers aren't great stars known to everyone as they are that good.

Monday, September 27th 2010 - Paris to London

What a fantastic show last night.  We have had a great breakfast and the cab is coming to pick us up at 11:30 from the hotel as our train leaves at 1:00 pm for our travel back to the UK.  Packing and unpacking we have down to a fine art by this time, but it'll be nice to get home and unpack once and for all.  We are looking forward to our time in London, the plays etc., and having the time to end this journey in one of our favourite places - Jolly old London town.  We are sad to be saying 'Goodbye' to Mary, but you know we have had such a fantastic time together, it really has been magic and we are so grateful for our many blessings and this wonderful friendship is truly just that - a blessing:)

Paris to London on the Eurostar at 303 kph (190 mph). Shared the cab with Mary who dropped us off at the Cavendsh Hotel while she continued her journey home. It was a tearful 'goodbye', but we had so much fun together - lots of good memories. We had such a laugh on the Eurostar coming home from Paris, we laughed 'til our sides hurt - what a great holiday. Checked into the Cavendish and our room is lovely... its on the 7th floor with view of the London Eye. We have been lucky with the view from our rooms, Paris - the Eiffel Tower and now London with the London Eye, guess Big Ben would have been better, but what the heck we're thrilled. Ron killed time at the Shakespeare's Head Pub on Carnaby Street, while I got my nails done then off to Sister Act at the London Palladium. Wow! Our first London Theatre Show and it was a great success - we bought the tickets right at the Theatre in the afternoon while wandering around looking for a nail place, so just asked 'Any tickets for tonight's performance?' and got great tickets for 25 pounds in the stalls, right on the aisle it was fantastic.  Great music, dancing and singing - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Strolled home after the performance - London streets seem to be bustling all the time and the after theatre crowd comprises everything from teenagers to total oldies wearing blue jeans to glittery evening gowns - anything goes. Our room and bed at the Cavendish is as plush as we remember, great night's sleep.

Sunday, September 26th 2010 - Paris, France

Well here we are in Versailles... and so is everyone else in Europe I think!  What a crowd.  We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel and were picked up in a nice van for our tour before 9am - the ride took about 25 minutes, but when we got there the place was jammed with lots of people everywhere you turned.  The Town (or City) of Versailles looked very nice from the van and I think I might enjoy exploring that area as it had some beautiful mature trees and lovely old buildings not as grand as Champs-Elysees, but definitely French looking with shutters and pretty flowers, etc.  It was most uncomfortable viewing the Palace because of the huge number of people (ignorant europeans) pushing and shoving and hardly any room to walk.  Announcements came over the PA system to watch out for pick pockets as they work well in that environment where everyone is touching you and there's no room for personal space - I didn't enjoy that part of the morning at all.  The Palace is magnificent for sure, perhaps a day other than a Sunday might have been a better choice for the tour, but I somehow doubt it - I think all of the big tourist attractions are like this nowadays, people, people everywhere and no personal space whatsoever.  The bottom middle picture of the room with the Chandeliers shows what the place was like (filled with people) as we toured the various rooms!  It was a great experience for sure, but I wouldn't be rushing back to do it again.  Arrived back at the hotel in time for..... you guessed it some FOS at our favourite restaurant and we even had some wine this time, perfect.  Off now for an afternoon nap and a Blog catch up before our big evening at the Lido tonight.

Met Mary downstairs at 6:40 to catch the cab to the famous Lido on the Champs-Elysees, dinner, show, champagne............our last night in Paris, so we'll be celebrating appropriately.  Can't believe we'll be saying goodbye to Mary tomorrow as she heads home for work and we to London for the last leg of our fantastic holiday!  Hard to believe we'll be home this time next week... but it'll be nice to get into our own bed again.
12:30 am and we're just getting home, what a spectacular show.   We had great seats and enjoyed our wine and dinner.  The show had some fabulous costumes, a horse on stage and wonderful sets - actually so much going on at one time it was hard to take it all in.  Photography isn't allowed during the performance of course, so you'll all have to make a point of coming here to see it yourselves.  Although we tried, we just couldn't get a cab home so had to hoof it in the rain... Ron was starting to sing the old favourite 'Singing in the Rain' but since Mary and I refused to join in that went quickly by the wayside.  Our hotel is only about four blocks from the theatre, so we made it back in about 10 minutes - looking like drowed rats mind you, but glad to be home safe and sound and with a song in our hearts.  The show was really fantastic and a fitting end to our Paris adventure.  Meeting tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. and have the cab ordered for 11:15 to take us and all the bags to the train station for the Eurostar back to London :(

We took one final shot of the Eiffel Tower on this foggy rainy night from our room balcony... here it is!  Enjoy and night, night.

Saturday, September 25th 2010 - Paris, France

After a fantastic and leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we walked along to the Champs-Elysees to catch the bus for our city tour.  The hotel is within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysees, there are plenty of restaurants around and we can even see the Eiffel Tower from our room window!  The weather is a little cooler than Dubai (go figure), so Mary bought herself a nice new Paris scarf which you'll see her sporting in many of the pictures that follow!  We boarded the red bus and had a lot of fun seeing the sights of the City all in one fell swoop.  The fashions, the cars, the people, the shops.... it's all absolutely fantastic.  All the big fashion names are here and we were amazed that the Louis Vuitton shop on the Champs-Elysees always has a queue of people lined up to get in.  Lucky for Ron, Mary and I weren't really in the mood for a 'big shop', ha ha.  Weather wise we did have a little rain now and again and spent the whole day touring around the City on and off the bus.  We visited the huge Lafayette store which has about 7 stories and has a huge viewing platform at the very top of the building.  So we got to see the fantastic views of the City from there and took some shots of Sacre Couer and the back of the Opera House.  We found the very Cafe de la Paix we sat in with the kids when we visited Paris with them, so we lunched there, people watched and had a great time reminiscing.

The top middle shot and the next one are taken from the top of the Lafayette store rooftop.  After our busy day touring we returned to the hotel for a little Siesta (or whatever it's called in France) and met downstairs again to hop on our red bus for a tour of the city by night.  We spent some time around the Eiffel Tower waiting for dark to fall, but you know what, we were not disappointed as when they lit up the Tower, a million little fairy lights danced up and down this enormous structure and it was just so pretty.  Rather and take the bus, we walked back to our neighbourhood and went back to our 'favourite restaurant' (the onion soup one) for dinner and some wine.  Once again, we were very warmly welcomed by the owner and had a fabulous dinner and another great evening in Paris.  Strolled home around 11ish and decided that we would try to go for a tour of Versailles tomorrow if possible in the morning.

Friday, September 24th 2010 - Paris, France

Got up bright and early and headed to St. Pancreas dragging our bags behind us.... ah yes, this travelling thing is so exciting.  The hotel was a great location though, right across from the train station and that was the biggest reason we booked it.  Our room was better than Mary's who seemed to get a disabled room with a lightbulb or two not working (probably a good thing) under the circumstances!  Once inside the enormous structure of the railway station, we luckily  found a nice table outside one of the breakfast places and sat with our luggage and some breaky and 'people watched' - it was great fun.  We were in plenty of time for our train, so that part was very relaxing.  The train station was busy though, but we managed to find our platform ok and got things settled with our tickets and through security (which was easier than the airline process).  The train journey was good, rushing through the French countryside at 183 mph.... quite an experience.  When we arrived in Paris it was a nightmare trying to get a cab, there was at least 200 people in line for taxis with an expected wait of 45 minutes to an hour.  So, after much debate we ended up taking a private car for an exhorbident amount of euros and got safely and quickly to our hotel.  This hotel, the West End is lovely!  Our rooms (although I'm sure not the best in the house) are small (thank goodness we didn't bring the cat), but they are quite luxurious with crisp bedlinen and nice towels.  We were given a warm welcome, and after dropping the cases in the rooms headed down to the hotel lounge for some refreshment (after all we were missing our high tea in the Club Room at Royal Le Meridien in Dubai) and then headed out to explore a little of Paris.

Well, here we are out and about in the afternoon and managed to secure tickets to the Crazy Horse Paris showroom for tonight's performance at 7:30pm.  Walking along our hotel's neighbourhood we found this awesome little restaurant and had the most delicious French Onion Soup with plenty of french bread and good butter, yummy!  The best thing about this restaurant though was the owner - she greeted us like old friends and definitely had the customer service thing down pat (perhaps she'd trained in Dubai we mused).  Because it was the late afternoon (5ish) the restaurant wasn't too busy and we just about had the place to ourselves!  The evening show (which we could just walk to - even in my high heels) was fantastic, lots of Cirque de Soleil type performances and the drinks during the show was a nice touch (although Mary and I remarked that the chapagne wasn't quite up to the stuff we had during our afternoon high teach at Al Arab.... will everyting now be compared to our experiences in Dubai?)  After the show, we strolled back to the hotel as it was just a short distance away and had a nightcap in our room before retiring for the night.  We decided to do a City tour of Paris tomorrow on the red bus, so we'll see how that goes.

Thursday, September 23rd 2010 - Dubai to London

Well here it is, Angies BD - Happy Birthday:)  We are sadly leaving on a Jet Plane - don't know . . . . . well you can fill in the rest.  Decided to do a 'last minute shopping run' and end up spending our last couple of hours at the beach/pool before heading for the jet plane around noon.  The weather is glorious and we are looking forward to our time on Emirates Airline again, what a great journey this has been.  We arrived in London on time although our taxi driver had to go around the block a couple of times to find our hotel which was right across from St. Pancreas station.  Mary ended up calling the hotel and got specific instructions four our cab driver who was old school and didn't appear to have GPS??  The hotel was a little disappointing, but then what wouldn't be after our Dubai experience?  We headed out to get something to eat as we didn't fancy eating at the hotel since they told us they were just closing the kitchen, so we ended up in an Italian Restaurant about 4 blocks from the hotel and were greeted with 'yes, we're still open, but you'd beter be quick'.... well, after the unbelieveable customer service in Dubai this wasn't a great welcome back to the UK, even Mary was amused at our experience!  However, the hotel had clean beds and the rooms were ok for an overnight.  Off to gay Paris tomorrow on the Eurostar, so on with our journey.  Looking forward to perhaps a show or two in Paris and hopefully an improvement in the standard of the hotel.  More to follow...

Wednesday, September 22nd 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Went shopping in the morning and got some good deals - mainly Mary that is as no room in the suitcase prohibited me from buying anything except a couple of scarves.  We decided to book in for afternoon tea at Burj Al Arab the 7 star hotel here.  What a treat that was, starting out with Champagne being expertly poured by our server and a bunch of goodies that we'll never forget.  Even the serving tray was shaped like a sail, same as the building, we had an awesome time and left with very full bellies.  Seeing the hotel itself was worth the price of admission - it wasn't cheap, but couldn't be missed.

More pics from the restaurant.

When we returned to the hotel, we quickly got on our swimsuits for some pool action and stayed out to see the sunset - it was fantastic.  What a day!  Hard to believe we have to leave tomorrow, the week has just flown by, it's been terrific and we'll be sad to leave.

Tuesday, September 21st 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Well here it is, our big day with plans for Ron's skiing while Mary and I sit at our reserved restaurant table ready to capture every stunning moment.  We also had tickets to go up the tallest building in the world.  Although it's very hot here, we notice that there's a fair amount of haze, so not that great for photography although we can see things quite well.  Ron had a great time skiing and Mary and I were impressed by his wiggle back and forth as he came down the ski hill.  He took 10 runs in all and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Afterwards, he joined Mary and I for lunch in the restaurant and relayed the stories of his experiences.

We spent the afternoon looking around the Dubai Mall (which has an ice skating rink, waterfalls, cinemas and a whole load of expensive shops).  We also took the metro over to the Tallest Building to get ready for our trip to the top.  What an experience that was, the lift (or elevator) only took over a minute to reach the 123rd floor and it was black all the way up, although you could feel your ears pop at the various floors - unreal.  The view from the top was a little hazy, and I didn't want to get too close to the edge as it's a little scary all that way with the floor to ceiling windows that you feel you could just walk right out.  The water fountain show to Lionel Ritchie 'All Night Long' was quite a treat!  Everyone was in a party mood and we had an awesome busy day - slept well that night.

Monday, September 20th 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Enjoyed our day out and about in Dubai - visiting the Gold souk and having dinner at Souk Madinat.  Dubai used to be a fishing village and you can see that they still do a lot of trade with boats as there's merchandise everywhere just waiting to be loaded into the little wooden fishing boats to ports elsewhere.  The Gold Souk is unreal, lots of really yellow gold, very flashy (picture of Mary and I below in front of one of the shop windows) and guys hassling you to go with them to find fake everything!  Once you say no though, they are good with that and don't persist the way we found them to in Mexico and Jamaica so not that bad.  We took a little boat across the creek for 1 dh., it was fun and there's a picture of Mary and I sitting waiting to go.

Sunday, September 19th 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Headed out on the Big Red Bus tour today.  What a great way to see all the buildings and get a sense of how big the place really is.  We stopped by the Mall of the Emerates as that's where Ron will be skiing tomorrow and wanted to make sure we knew where everything was, etc.  This is a beautiful Mall and we are surprised at how few people there are around, perhaps beacause we've been in the UK for the last wee while, small Island, lots of people.  The architecture here is totally amazing, Barry and Kath would love it I'm sure.  The Mall was immaculate and lots of big stores with great shopping, lucky for Dad we have no room at all in the suitcases, otherwise I could really go mad here.

Buildings - you really feel small when you stand at the foot of one of these buildings, it's dizzying actually they just seem to stretch right up to the sky.  We did visit the Atlantis on the Palm, that's the hotel that connects in the middle - unreal.

Saturday, September 18th 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Well decided to hang out at the pool and beach and soak up some rays as the resort is so lovely.  The pool and pool bar are great and the views from our room tremendous.  Plan to head out tomorrow if we can tear ourselves away from this beautiful place.

Friday, September 17th 2010 - Dubai, UAE

What a night... the beds are so comfortable, big squishy pillows and soft white sheets and Duvet.... it's like getting into a great big hug from your most favourite person in the world.  We had a great breakfast of fresh fruit, croissants and all the usual fantastic breakfast goodies.  Afterwards we headed down to the beach.... OMG the water is like a bathtub and it's so very hot - stifling really (with the humidity), but once again the service is unreal.  Cold face towels and bottles of ice cold water are delivered to you on the beach every half hour and there's a guy bringing your drink order and walking by to check on you every 15 minutes or so.  The beach has lots of great chairs with plush cushions on them and the wait staff meet you at the beach and carry your towels and get you settled in your place of choice.  There was hardly anyone at the beach that has lovely soft sand and great palapas that provide necessary shade.  We spent a couple of hours at the beach, visiting, reading our books, etc.  before heading up to one of the four pools in the resort.  The chairs by the pools are even more luxurious than those at the beach with headrests and even more padding - have we died and gone to heaven?  I think so.  Steve, I know when you and Michelle honeymooned in Jamaica you said Mexico's out and Jamaica's in, well I'm thinking Mexico's out and Dubai's in.  We had high tea in the Club House about 4ish and then met up again at 7:30 for a quick drink (3) in the Club Lounge before heading to dinner in the casual Italian Restaurant.  Had a reservation for 8pm, but didn't make it there until 9pm as we were having such a great time visiting in the Club Lounge.

They have a strict dress code at the hotel for dining, so here we are all gussied up for our evening out.  The restaurant was fabulous, and we had an awesome time there, then headed to the piano bar for special coffees and then over to another place for our final nightcap and a wee dance to the live music.  What a great night, but very late to bed so looking forward to a nice lie in tomorrow morning..... hey, we are on vacation right!  We've met quite a few people here, one lady I met in the pool has been here 6 times and never leaves the resort.  Food and drinks are very expensive though, thank God for plastic.  We intend to get out and about, but are in no hurry as this place is heavenly.  We observed one couple getting a little too friendly in the pool and noticed that they were quickly cautioned by the staff, so there's definitely no canoodling in public places if you know what I mean.

Thursday, September 16th 2010 - Dubai, UAE

Here's the three of us on the plane!  Emerates Airlines was first class all the way - we so enjoyed our flight over with first class service - our own tvs with touchscreen that had all sorts of great applications, from Top Ten Music Hits starting in 1952 right up to 2010 and over 100 movies.  I watched a couple of great movies - one Tricia had told me about Letters to Juliette and Mother and Child - or maybe Daughter (I think it was called).  The flight was 6 hours and 15 minutes long and we were very comfortable the entire time.  Once we got off the plane we were quickly processed through baggage pick up and emmigration and I do have to say that our eyes were like saucers in the airport - what a magnificient building that is.  Everything is spotless with marble everywhere and gleaming fixtures throughout the airport - very impressive.  Out the door to a waiting taxi that sped us along the motorway for about 20 minutes to get to our hotel.  The driver was very friendly and we saw the pink Ladies Taxis at the airport (these taxis transport women in a safe manner).  Everyone is wearing traditional dress which is very chic - this middle picture on top is one of the flight attendants - they took the headgear off by the way during service!  Well, if we were impressed on our arrival it was nothing compared to our welcome and gander around once we arrived at the hotel.  What a beautiful place this is.  The Customer Service is out of this world - everyone is so friendly and they can't do enough for you.  We were quickly checked in.... decided to upgrade to Club which gave us an upgrade in our room, free breakfast and Afternoon Tea from 3pm-6pm in the Club Lounge and Cocktail Hour with free drinks and appies from 6:30pm - 9 pm every night (a good deal for those of us used to All Inclusive).  Our room has a balcony with a harbour view and Mary's just 2 doors down, perfeck!

Wednesday, September 15th 2010 - Glasgow to Gatwick House

Woke up to a rainy, blustery day in Glasgow, but we got up and pulled on our clothes as we wanted to meet Tricia to say Farewell as she was leaving today!  Got to St. George's Square a little before 8am and soon we saw the threesome hurrying along to get out of the rain - only had to wait a couple of minutes for the bus to arrive and see Tricia safely on board.  Theresa, Ian and Ron and I then strolled along and said our goodbyes at our hotel which was only a block from their place.  We were checking out of our hotel and Theresa and Ian had one more night in their luxurious apartment.  We were able to do some laundry at the hotel and spent the rest of the day sightseeing in Glasgow as our flight to London wasn't until 7pm.  Here's a picture of me enjoying the All Day Breakfast at the Trees and then the beautiful People's Palace via our Hop On Hop Off tour of Glasgow.  We were able to leave our bags at the hotel and then met Mary at the Airport for our flight to Gatwick and overnight in London before leaving for Dubai in the morning.  We managed a quick bevy at the quaint Six Bells Pub before heading to bed around 11pm.  The Gatwick House had a certain resemblance to Faulty Towers - least ways that was our experience.  However, they took us to the airport in plenty of time for our flight and we enjoyed a nice breakfast before heading out.

Tuesday, September 14th 2010 - Glasgow, Scotland

Met at The Trees for breakfast and headed out to the old neighbourhood (51 Castlemilk Drive) and Rutherglen for a drink in Mum's old haunt Chapman's.  We had a fabulous day hopping off and on the buses and visiting the old Terrace of Trees, our old school, etc., so great to be able to share this walk down memory lane with Tricia and Theresa.  Joseph has just stopped by for a visit and we are hoping that Mary and her sister Anna will be able to join us tonight for fish and chips as Tricia is heading home tomorrow to stay overnight with Steve and Michelle in Calgary before heading to Kamloops on Thursday.   Had a great final phone call with Aunty Theresa in Neilston, so said our final 'farewell' and haste ye back again sentiments.

9:00 pm Well they arrived (Mary and Anna), and here we all are....... the sisters enjoying a refreshment together.  Mary and Anna look absolutely brilliant - as are we all.  Had a great reunion and fabulous fish and chip supper!  What a great evening, thanks to Theresa, Tricia and Ian for their wonderful hospitality in this beautiful luxurous apartment.  Made arrangements to meet up with Mary at Glasgow Airport for our flight to London and overnight at Gatwick House before heading to Dubai on Thursday - so looking forward to this most exciting part of our big trip.

Monday, September 13th 2010 - Glasgow, Scotland

What a surprise when we rang the doorbell of the flat at 10:30 on Sunday night (forgot the camera in our haste so no pictures I'm afraid) and Ian answered!!  They were shocked and surprised, though Theresa suspected that we would join them.... ah, she knows us well.   We got an excellent flight from Exeter direct to Glasgow first class to accommodate all our luggage and then a quick taxi to check into the Frasier Suites a mere block from the flat !  This flat is very luxurious and in a wonderful location - what a great find.  We headed out to Dunoon and a visit to Granny Sbragia's Cottage and although the weather was dreadful, we still enjoyed ourselves.  Ian found a great place to have dinner - called the Source and it was excellent - check out the pictures below... it's in St. Andrew's Square in the bottom of the Church grounds very trendy and fantastic food.  Yummy!

Dinner last night, it was fantastic.
