Enjoyed our day out and about in Dubai - visiting the Gold souk and having dinner at Souk Madinat. Dubai used to be a fishing village and you can see that they still do a lot of trade with boats as there's merchandise everywhere just waiting to be loaded into the little wooden fishing boats to ports elsewhere. The Gold Souk is unreal, lots of really yellow gold, very flashy (picture of Mary and I below in front of one of the shop windows) and guys hassling you to go with them to find fake everything! Once you say no though, they are good with that and don't persist the way we found them to in Mexico and Jamaica so not that bad. We took a little boat across the creek for 1 dh., it was fun and there's a picture of Mary and I sitting waiting to go.
