Tuesday, August 10th, 2010 - Coleraine, Ireland

Had a fabulous full Irish breakfast in the hotel restaurant called “Table Table”. We took our coffees in to the lounge area and spent the rest of the morning updating the blog – hope you all like it. We then headed out for Bushmills and the Old Bushmills Irish Whiskey distillery – the oldest in all of Ireland – started in 1608, (Irish) hic.

We drove to the coast and stopped at a few view spots and fabulous beaches. Although the sun was shining, the North Atlantic water is wet suit only! The weather was off and on – mostly sunny but with the odd shower now and then. Oh yeah, had a Double Nugget from an ice cream van at White Rock beach – FAB doesn’t cover it! Yum, Yum, Yum etc.

We drove along the north coast of Northern Ireland and stopped at Port Rush, Port Stewart and Downhill. We walked all through Downhill Castle, built in the late 1700’s by the Bishop of Derry – quite impressive. Took a side trip to Magilligan Point ferry before picking up a couple of haddock fish suppers, a bottle of wine and a couple of Tennents lager. Everything tasted real good back in our hotel room as we watched a little UK TV before hitting the hay. Another fabulous day!!
