Left Mary's around 10:00 a.m. and stopped on our way out of town at some of the old Glasgow haunts, St. Margaret Mary's School, Langside College, Shawlands Cross, etc. Lots of memories, blue skies and dry weather.
Drove to the famous Falkirk Wheel - which replaced 9 locks in the Scottish canal system. It was a great visit - quite spectacular really to see that big wheel go right around with a boat on it!! Kids had fun running around in a big ball on the water.... thought of our grandkids - missing them they would all have had a ball here:(
Drove toward Fort William with a stop at the Underwood Lockhouse Pub, Guiness for Ron and Shandy for me. What a glorious day, had to take our jackets off when sitting in the sun, weather was glorious.
Stopped overnight in Fort William (beside Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in the UK). Went out to a pub and listened and sang along (me quickly emptying the place!) to some oldies but goodies with Joe the Guitar Player - pictured below.
